Horse Camp Update

We have been busy with horse camp and really enjoy taking photos during the week. One of the highlights we look forward to each week is the last day of camp; not because it is the last day of camp; but because we love giving the complimentary photos to the students and parents and seeing their reactions. We thought it would be fun to share a couple of the photos we’ve taken this week. We hope you enjoy!

Horse Camp

It’s been fun taking photos at the Capricorn Equestrian Horse Camps. We thought we’d share a couple of random shots. Information on seeing all of the photos that are taken during horse camp can be obtained in the Capricorn office or by contacting us here at PhotoBlast.

Elliott

On a recent trip to Kentucky, I took some photos of some horses… This is Elliott…
Elliott is being trained to become a police horse. He’s only a year old, but he is learning quickly.

I took a minute or two and played with the photo using the Sharp Shot Color Pop pro action from EZ Actions. Below, you can see the original photo (as shot) and the resulting edit (before and after). I’ve overlayed the 2 photos and created this animated photo.

Video Test

Here is a test of adding a video to the site…
These are some photos that I’ve taken at Capricorn Equestrian in Sachse, Texas. You’ll usually find me there on Tuesday nights and then again on Thursday or Saturday (and maybe even an occasional Sunday afternoon). We’ve been riding there for about a year now and we’ve really started progessing in our horseback riding. We look forward to learning more and may even one day own our own horses (but I want to learn as much as I can before that day gets here).  Anyways, enjoy the video…

Image testing

Meet Vegas… Vegas and I have spent a fair amount of time together over the past few months. As I’ve progressed in my horsemanship, my instructor wanted me to move to a new horse (Vegas) that was less of a “golf cart” and would be more challenging. I can honestly say, that Vegas has definitely been a challenge, but we have both progressed.

When I first started riding Vegas, he would frequently “slam on the brakes”, throwing me into the saddle horn (not a pleasant experience by the way – and I’m sure my voice probably raised an octave or two). We’ve generally gotten past that – although he does still from time to time like to change directions. With Vegas, I’ve learned about riding in spurs, I’ve learned how to round pen, and I’ve learned a bit more about ground work. Most recently, I’m working on keeping his feet moving, keeping a proper seat, and some side passing.

You’ll be hearing more about Vegas in the future – I’m sure
